Miracle at Augusta

A year ago, Travis McKinley, an unknown golfing amateur, shocked the world by winning the PGA Senior Open at Pebble Beach. Now he's famous, he makes his living playing the game he loves, and everything should be perfect. Still Travis can't shake the feeling that he's a fraud, an imposter who doesn't deserve his success - and after a series of disappointments and, to be honest, personal screw-ups, he might just prove himself right. A shot at redemption arrives in an unexpected form: a teenage outcast with troubles of his own - and a natural golf swing. As this unlikely duo sets out to achieve the impossible on the world's most revered golf course, Travis is about to learn that sometimes the greatest miracles of all take place when no one is watching.

COMING JUNE 22

Palm Beach County During World War II, Florida (Images of America Series)

By Debi Murray, Richard A. Marconi and Susan Gillis

Palm Beach County During World War II, Florida (Images of America Series)

During World War II, Palm Beach County was a beehive of activity. Beachgoers witnessed the destruction left in the wake of U-boat attacks and then helped rescue survivors and retrieve the dead. One of the first Civil Air Patrol units to hunt U-boats operated from Palm Beach County. Morrison Field in West Palm Beach served as the takeoff point for Army Air Corps planes destined for battle lines throughout the world. Boca Raton Army Air Field was the headquarters for training airmen in top secret radar technology. The US Army, Navy, and Coast Guard used resort hotels for training sites and hospitals.

Drawing upon images from the Historical Society of Palm Beach County, Boca Raton Historical Society and Museum, and other public and private collections, the authors tell the compelling story of Palm Beach County's vital service during World War II. Susan Gillis has served as curator at the Boca Raton Historical Society and Museum since 2002. Education curator Richard A. Marconi and chief curator Debi Murray have served the Historical Society of Palm Beach County since 2001 and 1999, respectively. All three have written several books on local history and have created exhibits about the county at war.

Autographed copies will be available the end of June 2015.
